  • Congratulations to Andrea Jacome! Andrea who we affectionately call “goat” She's kind of like one in that she's stubborn, she never gives up. When everyone else rushes out, Goat will stay to put up the chairs up or plug in computers, and btw her homework was in, her reading is done. Goat embodies integrity. Her willingness to help comes not out of obligation, but simply because she knows it is the right thing to do. She gets that we are stronger as school community when everyone participates. Congratulations on earning Student of the Month Andrea “Goat” Jacome!
  • Armando Navarro has be selected student of the month for his hard-work and perseverance in school. He comes to school every day and with his homework completed. In addition to his academics, Armando is a fun student to have in class. He knows when it is time to work and when he can joke around. He makes his teachers and classmates smile daily. Armando is also a helpful student and friend. He has found success in school and wants others to be successful too. Keep it up, Armando!
  • Emily is strongly committed to being the best in everything she does. She meets all of her classroom challenges head on and never gives up until she gets things done correctly. Her tenacity goes unmatched. Each day she displays what it means to be a Simmons Panther and is someone whose classmates look up to. You will often find her helping her classmates and contributing rich and thoughtful ideas in our classroom discussions. Congratulations Emily, your teachers are very proud of you!
  • The word to describe Anthony is dedicated. Anthony is extremely dedicated to his school work. He never falters in completion of assignments, studying, or performing on assessments. It is due to this strong dedication that Anthony achieves academically. While tranquil and quiet in class, Anthony is an example through his kind, considerate manner. Anthony is a great student leader and student of the month!
  • Marvin Torres is our first student of the month for November. Marvin is sagacious. He always uses good judgment, both academically and socially. When there is a choice to be made, you can count on Marvin to make the right one. Marvin is always fair and kind to those around him, teacher and student alike. Thanks for being you, Marvin

This month Simmons Middle School’s Team 7B chose five students to be recognized and celebrated for great character; having integrity, being sagacious, dedicated, hardworking, considerate, thoughtful, tenacious, motivated, determined, ambitious, caring and generous.

Teachers nominate students on our team that demonstrate such characteristics, and at the end of the month, teachers choose five students that stand out the most.

Students selected for Students of the Month are announced over the P.A. each day along with why they were chosen. At the end of the week students are celebrated at a luncheon with their teachers, counselor and our administration.

Here are the students being celebrated for the month of November.
