Nationwide Poetry Contest Winner!Nationwide Poetry Contest Winner!

A huge congratulations to Amelia (“Emmy”) Donka and two of her classmates, Evelyn Lechuga and Josie Franck, for getting their original poems published after entering a nationwide poetry contest. There were over 2,000 poems entered from all around the country.  A book with their published poems will be placed in the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.!! (under each poem will read “C.F. Simmons Middle School”). We are excited to have distinguished authors representing Simmons Middle School, East Aurora District 131, and the greater community at large! Their teacher, Mrs. Jean Kovak, and everyone at Simmons are very proud of them and congratulate them on their success. Way to represent East Aurora – keep shining ladies!
