The District 131 Communications Office handles all media requests, including interviews and school visits. While the district values open communication, it must also protect the privacy of all students.

Direct all media inquiries to the communications office. This rule does not apply to public meetings or routine coverage of athletic and extracurricular events held outside the regular school day.

Only reporters with prior permission from the communications director may enter school property to cover events or educational activities. For safety and security, reporters without prior approval are not allowed on school grounds, in school buildings or in learning environments.

Photographers must collect the full names of any students shown in photos so staff can check district media waiver files. This protects student privacy and speeds up the approval process.

Contact the communications director if a reporter asks to visit a campus or arrives without permission. Ask any unauthorized media members to leave school property and direct them to the communications office.

District 131 uses social media to highlight student achievements, events and activities. We expect all comments to be respectful, factual and constructive.

Staff will remove inappropriate content, including personal attacks, spam, offensive language or off-topic posts. We do not allow external links or the use of our pages to discuss personal issues. Please contact the school directly or follow official communication channels to address individual concerns.

The district reserves the right to delete comments and block users who repeatedly violate these rules. Our goal is to maintain a positive, helpful online space that models respectful behavior for our school community.
